I am currently taking a step back and have used a (comparable) drive with TOS5.1.123 (Traid) installed while testing using Rsync to simulate typical use. To be 'safe' shut down overnight and - so far - device has been ok. But, only short time relatively. Adding 2nd drive will come later and, if that works, moving back to TOS6 which was running when issues came to light.
My main concern(s) lately were that, if I wished to do it, I could not happily build a new bios/initboot based of the instructions provided to date. I would certainly like to obtain a bios that allows for external usb boot on this device. Too often it seems we get directed to links that are not appropriate.
